Danish design and Danish traditions

ANGULUS was founded in 1904 and began as a small shoemaker's on Nørrebrogade in Copenhagen. The founder's son was a schoolteacher and had noticed how the very pointy and unusual shoes of the time were unhealthy for kids's feet because of the shoes' shape. Furthermore, the shoes of the time restricted kids's natural movements, so they could not run and play as freely as they wanted. Willy Madsen set out to change that. He designed the foot-shaped shoe in collaboration with the country's doctors and physiotherapists, thus revolutionizing the shoemaking industry of the time.

Since then ANGULUS has grown considerably, and today you can find a wide range of different high-quality shoes here with us. The shoes are still designed in Denmark, so we can guarantee the classic and timeless models that never go out of style in Denmark and around the world. All our shoes are handcrafted at our own factory in Portugal by some of the country's most skilled shoemakers and from the finest materials.
