Making a pair of ANGULUS shoes is a long, precise and rewarding process. From first steps step in a shoe's creation to the last, there are 48-60 steps before it is finished. Many wonderful people have handled the shoe and put a great deal of expertise and passion into the product.
Since March 2020, all ANGULUS shoes have been produced at our own factory in northern Portugal. However, gummistøvler og hjemmesko are produced in China.
At the factory in Portugal, proud shoemakers ensure that each shoe lives up to ANGULUS' hallmark: quality and simplicity. The purpose of returning production to our own factory is to future-proof the high product quality ANGULUS is known for, and to be able to work efficiently on continuous optimization of the product's journey from the design process and raw materials to the finished shoe landing on the shelves – for the benefit of the environment and all our customers.
At the factory, approximately 85 employees and new production and IT equipment ensure efficient and responsible production with a high level of transparency and information from the factory to customers.
ANGULUS through the years
ANGULUS has produced shoes since 1904 – until the late 1960s at our own factory at Nørrebrogade 56 in Copenhagen. After that followed a long period of production with a partner in Portugal, so that design and development took place in-house at Angulus in Herlev, and production at a single external factory. At the start we simply moved machines and lasts from Copenhagen down to the Portuguese partner and trained the employees in the distinctive qualities of Angulus shoes. In 2020 the circle was closed, and it is with great joy and pride that we are once again the owners of a brand-new, 100% owned factory in northern Portugal.
